There will not be a new episode on today, but you can catch last weeks' episode on at 1 PM Eastern, 12 Central today, or check the show schedule. Then after that, at 4 Eastern 3 Central is Haggis's show. Happy listening. Wishing you all the best.

Kalie will not be doing the show today. I just wanted to let everyone know. Hope you are having a good day.

Just for the record, I do not have a regular sleep pattern and can only sleep in 1- to 3-hour stretches. I do get about 5 or 6 hours per 24-hour period -- sometimes just 3. While it may seem distressing to some (or all) of you, my stupid brain appears to be completely comfortable with this and has been since I retired some 5 years ago. So...

I listen to Alice FM at all odd hours of the day/night depending on how busy or not busy I am.

As always, constructive feedback is appreciated.

Allow me to report my most recent experience of your program.

On Sunday morning on the U.S. west coast, my laptop was tuned to AliceFM. I heard you eating behind the microphone and was so grossed out and annoyed that I immediately switched to the online stream of a local radio station.

I know you're not a professional radio host, but could you take just one or two steps closer to professionalism, please?

Of course, my reaction is not necessarily everyone's reaction. For all I know, maybe some listeners thought you were "keeping it real" and appreciated you for it. But anyway, I'm reporting my experience to provide feedback.

Thank you for your feedback. Your concerns have been noted.

I do recall the episode in question and will keep that in mind for future additions. That morning in particular, I had very little time to eat something before getting on air and being hypoglycemic I had to get sugar in me. I also didn't realize I was at the end of the track I was playing, otherwise I wouldn't have been on the mic crunching. If it offended you I do apologize for it. That's not exactly how I do my shows on a norm, but when you have a medical condition, that kinda takes priority.

Also, please keep in mind that the tone of your feedback could have come off quite a bit more respectful and polite. I have no problems listening to feedback, but I also would urge one to consider that maybe talking to someone as you would like being addressed is an honorable thing to do.

Nevertheless, I will endeavor to keep your thoughts in mind. Live radio sometimes does has it's vulnerable and real moments to it, things that not even the best scripts can account for.

Thanks again and please have a much better day than you were having when you wrote this to me.

Many thanks,
KS

Hi Kalie, I am just now aging into diabetes but the opposite type. Is there any way I can develop your type so I can consume all the sugar I want?

(I'm joking, of course.)

If the shoe were on the other foot and I were receiving such feedback from you, it's very hard for me to imagine any rephrasing of the complaint to make it "more respectful and polite" that would also still be appropriately candid in reporting your experience. I'm not saying I would enjoy receiving such a message as I gave you. It would certainly be a somewhat painful experience to be on the receiving end. I just figure that, unfortunately, bad news is always difficult to tell and difficult to hear.

I'm truly sorry that receiving my criticism was difficult for you, but I also don't believe I could expect any giver of such criticism to be able to make it any less difficult for me. That's just life (as I perceive it).
